Welcome to Shiptonthorpe Parish Council

Shiptonthorpe is a village and civil parish nestled in the heart of the East Riding of Yorkshire. Located approximately 5 miles southeast of Pocklington and 2 miles northwest of Market Weighton, it offers a unique blend of tranquillity and history.

The village is home to around 500 residents and boasts beautiful landscapes, traditional English architecture, and a warm, welcoming community. Notable landmarks include the Grade I listed All Saints Parish Church and its magnificent Lychgate.

The Village Hall hosts various events throughout the year from pantomimes, quiz nights and pub nights. The village also has a bowls club and an extensive sports field and children’s play park.
